ILUMA Ultra Cone Beam CT Scanner: Software Features

The ILUMA Vision 3D Software provides all the capabilities needed for thorough image analysis and surgical planning. An image from one scan can be reconstructed at different levels of resolution as many times as needed, without rescanning the patient. With a wide array of pre-set formats, you can access a variety of full, multi-sectional and cross-sectional views.

Unlimited Reconstructions of Data
Once a scan is complete, the data can be reconstructed as many times as needed. You can reconstruct a full craniofacial view at 0.4 voxels, and then select a smaller area, such as the TMJ, to reconstruct at 0.0936 voxels for more detail. There is no need to rescan the patient if a higher level of resolution is needed for diagnosis. Data reconstruction can be scheduled to run at specified times, such as after hours, or reconstructed on different servers to process images quicker.

All images are 1:1 with 0.1mm of precision for measurement and analysis purposes. Images are reconstructed directly into a DICOM compatible format for easy transfer to other practitioners and software programs.

Volume Rendering
Volume rendering allows the user to produce 2D views of 3D images using programmed presets. A variety of renderings can be viewed including: Soft Tissue, Hard Tissue, MIP (Maximum Intensity Projection) and Ray Sum.

Preset Formats Quickly choose the volume rendering you would like to view from the list of programmed presets. Presets range from full cranial views to TMJ.

ROI - Region of Interest
The practitioner can select a certain region of interest, such as the TMJ, and reconstruct that image at a higher resolution for more clarity and detail. Since reconstructions are unlimited, you have the ability to choose as many regions of interest as needed for diagnosis without rescanning the patient.

Multi-Planar Views
Multi-planer views allow the user to see the content of the volume where the slice intersects the anatomy.

Cross-Sectional Views
Cross-sections can be viewed along the mandibular arch. The user can choose to view up to 16 cross sections at one time. Section thickness can be viewed 1mm to 40mm.

Panoramic and Cephalometric Restorations
2D panoramic and cephalometric images can be created from a full scan. Easy-to-use tools, such as auto-arch, help identify the arch and create the panoramic image. Simply click on the Orthodontic tab to create a cephalometric image that can be exported into analysis software.

Nerve Marking and Measuring Tools
Identify the nerve by marking points along the nerve canal. Scrolling through the axial slices allows for a better view of the nerve canal. Once the nerve is identified, it shows on the panoramic and cross-sectional views.
The measurement tools give you accurate measurements of length, width, depth and volume to help prepare treatment plans and surgical simulations. You can measure bone length, angle and density as well as 3D length between implants and the inferior alveolar nerve. Other measurements include volume for sinus bone grafts as well as bone density statistics. All measurements are accurate to +/- 0.1mm.

Segmentation Tools
Segmentation tools identify different anatomical features by color-coding the separate parts of anatomy. Segmentation can also be used to show the density of anatomical features.
These tools also allow the user to remove anatomy from the image to focus on a particular region of interest.

Report Generator
By using the snapshot tool, images are automatically sent to a customizable report. The report can be saved as DICOM, .jpg and .bmp files.

Export to STL
Export STL files of specified images to 3D printers to create plastic models and surgical guides for surgical planning.
